Support heaped upon support

I am literally amazed at the kindness and the generosity of the friends that surround me. In a single day, I have raised over $400 dollars towards the defeat of cancer. But really, what does this total mean...it means that people are sick and tired of hearing about people being diagnosed or dealing with chemo treatments. It means that with each of the 28 million Americans impacted by cancer, there is a large contingent of friends and family that will do anything needed to beat this nasty disease.

Tonight, I decided to equal the extra efforts of my friends and family and run a little further and a little harder than normal. Tonight, I ran a nice 11 miler while thinking about the great support that I have received. With each dollar and with each note of support I feel more and more confident that the Boston Marathon is just a small step when you consider the bigger picture, that as I ran, someone was hearing the news that they have been diagnosed with cancer, that someone they know has just lost the battle for their lives, that I am so small in such a large world....but, thanks to a great television commercial from the Versus Network a few years back, it is true that sometimes, it not always the predictions that get results, that this isnt a math test, this is an etirely different kind of test....just like a marathon, just like a battle for a life...enjoy the video, enjoy the day!
